Why The Wally Tails?
If you're reading this, then you undoubtedly saw us somewhere or someone told you about us. In a way you could say this is experiment. The power of social media and something that brings a smile to people's faces. A moment of joy in seeing something.
In an instant, for some people they smile and light up when they see Walter... That's powerful, and It makes me feel good that I can add that smile to someones day.
My name is Mike Friedman. I'm the guy driving, the other guy is Walter. We are just starting out on our first journey to see the Eclipse. We are headed to northwest Wyoming, close to Yellowstone to see this geological phenomenon.
I've led a unique life. I've travelled to 32 countries, 5 continents, met the president twice, and went to the Olympics in 2008 because I LOVED racing bicycles since I was 12. I'm 34 now, I retired in Sept. of 2014 and founded PedalingMinds.org, a 501c3. It is one of the most remarkable and fulfilling things i've ever done. If you have time, please check it out, it's something very dear to my heart.
Through Pedaling Minds i've taught many children and even adults how to ride a bicycle with good control as well as scientific concepts through the bicycle. It's during that program that I have realized just how important it is to be a postive influence in someone's life. That's where The Wally Tails comes in. I have my "non profit" up and running and It's now time to find a "for profit" model that works alongside Pedaling Minds doing the things I love with my best friend, Walter.
The fellow sitting next to me, is Walter. He's 7 years old and was on a kill list when we found one another. Walter has been with me since. He is the first dog I've ever owned, and he is my closest companion. Walter is a special dog. His favorite thing in the world involves Tennis Balls, Ice Cream Cones, and now the Ural.
The Ride: The Ural, is a Russian made motorcycle. I found the one I wanted in Alabama back in March 2017, and had it shipped out to CO. It's the coolest toy that I've ever owned.
The ultimate goal of The Wally Tails is to write children's books. and by children's books, I mean books that will be fun to read, something completely different, non fiction, based on true events as they come. There are real characters involved taking real adventures talking about real things, real emotions, feelings, experiences, adventures and more.
Both Walter and myself are people people. We enjoy talking to whomever crosses our paths, so if you run into us make sure to say hello and tag us on social media.
